Deposit Requirement: A 20% deposit is required immediately upon the confirmation of your flights to St. Helena. Flight confirmation and deposit payment must be completed within two (2) weeks of reserving your charter dates.
Payment Method: All deposits and balances must be paid via electronic invoice into our designated Bank of St. Helena account only. The client is responsible for any international bank transfer fees.
Final Balance: The remaining full balance of the charter must be paid in full no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled charter start date.

Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellation by South Atlantic Adventures (Weather & Mechanical): If a charter is cancelled by us due to unsafe weather, sea conditions, or boat mechanical issues, we will endeavour to rearrange and find an alternative date. If an alternative date cannot be found, a full refund of the charter amount will be issued.
Cancellation by the Client: If the client cancels the charter, South Atlantic Adventures reserves the right to retain the 20% deposit. Where possible, we will attempt to find an alternative date to reschedule.
Last-Minute / On-Island Cancellations: If the client cancels a specific day of the charter or the charter itself while already on St. Helena, the client remains strictly liable to pay 50% of the charter cost.
Early Return: If the client requests or chooses to bring the boat back to land early on any given day during the charter, they remain liable for the full price of that scheduled day.
Flight Delays & Disruptions: In the event that a verified commercial airline delay or cancellation prevents the client from arriving on St. Helena for the start of their charter, South Atlantic Adventures will issue a partial refund for the specific charter days missed. This refund will be calculated as the daily charter rate minus the fixed daily crew costs and pre-purchased catering costs, for which the client remains liable. Alternatively, at our discretion, we may offer to roll the value of the missed days over as a credit toward a future charter.
No Catch Policy: Sport fishing involves wild elements. There will be no adjustment of payment, discounts, or refunds if the charter results in a no-catch day.
-
Equipment, Tackle, and Damage
Gear Responsibility: Clients provided with rods, reels, and tackle accept full responsibility for this equipment while it is in their use. Any damage, loss, or negligence resulting in broken or lost gear will incur a financial penalty equivalent to the current retail replacement cost of the equipment.
-
Safety, Conduct, and Substance Policy
Safety Procedures: Clients must strictly adhere to all safety procedures, briefings, and life-jacket requirements outlined by the staff and crew on board.
Substance Rules: There is a strict zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs. Excessive alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited.
Captain’s Authority: The Captain maintains absolute command of the vessel. The Captain reserves the right to terminate any charter day immediately, without refund, if a client’s behaviour compromises the safety of the vessel, crew, or other passengers.
-
Insurance, Immigration, and Liability Waiver
Mandatory Insurance: As per St. Helena immigration requirements, the client is solely responsible for ensuring they hold valid, comprehensive personal travel insurance that explicitly covers medical evacuation from St. Helena Island. South Atlantic Adventures assumes no liability for immigration issues or lack of insurance coverage.
Assumption of Risk: The client explicitly accepts all inherent risks associated with open-ocean sport fishing, marine activities, and operating moving equipment on board a vessel.
Limitation of Liability: South Atlantic Adventures, its captains, and crew will not take responsibility or be held liable for any marine-activity-related accidents, personal injury, illness, or property damage sustained during the charter, except in cases of proven gross negligence.
-
Photography and Media Release
Right to Use: South Atlantic Adventures reserves the right to take photographs and video footage of clients during the charter or activity. By participating, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use these images and videos for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.
